11 St & 17 Ave SE
Streetscape
This section of 17 Ave SE — a key axis within Ramsay’s urban fabric — boasts a series of bungalow and two-story heritage homes along with a few historic commercial buildings. Although the street offers a key connector to the prominent Scotman’s Hill to the West, the street is purposely cut off from 11 St on its eastern end, dwindling into a gravel driveway that leads to the Art Point building. The physical investigations of this residential microsite brought forth snapshots of private and public spaces, as well as creative ideas about the intercultural intersection of early colonial settlement.
