Industrial Heritage Area
The area between the Canadian Pacific Railway and 11 street SE features vacant lands and a series of heritage buildings whose industrial background is relevant to the community’s history. The buildings represented in the photos and films depicted here are now known as the Ramsay Design Centre and the Snowdon Block and they house coffee shops, artist studios, small businesses and work-share areas. The back of these buildings offers intimate access to the railway tracks and a powerful view of the railway yards where residual but resilient vegetation proliferates.
